As the summer comes to a close, and after record numbers participating in youth ministry events over the summer- we are looking forward to kicking off phyouth Sunday night youth group at Big Rock Mini-Golf and Fun Park on Sunday night, August 24 from 5-7:30pm.  Mini-golf, go-carts, batting cages- plus worship, food, and fellowship!  We also welcome our new class of confirmands to the youth ministry.  There is not a cost except to play games in the arcade.
Also, there are so many other places to get involved after the school year begins!  Cornerstone Singers on Sundays, Small groups on Wednesday nights, Coach Jimmy Faulkner’s Sr. High Bible Study on Sunday nights after youth group, Breakfast Club, AND monthly mission opportunities at the Alexander Youth Prison, Methodist Family Health, and our new nursing home ministry will all be on the calendar for this school year!  We will also be participating in the Out of Darkness walk on Nov. 2 raising awareness and money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (register for our team Pulaski Heights United Methodist Youth or #3people4life).  Plus special events like our Sr. High Fall Retreat and Jr. High Refuge Retreat – both at Shepherd of the Ozarks!  The Halloween Carnival, hayrides, bonfires, the Winter Peace Worship Service, Miracle League buddies…and the list goes on and on.  Of course we also want you to commit to weekly Sunday School and worship too- remember your vows of prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness!
After Labor Day, all youth in grades 6-12 are invited to come to phyouth group.  We meet on the third floor of the Disciple Center on Sunday evenings from 5:30-7:15pm and that includes a snack supper, fellowship, worship, and small groups (with our awesome team of adults!).  We have a lot of fun- but the key is building relationships with each other and learning more about how we can be Christ’s representatives in the world around us.
If you have questions about our youth ministry- please let me, Jennie, or Cathy know.  Remember you are loved!
